Breakdown of Tasks

Coursework/Production Schedule Tasks:

The following is a plan for all of the tasks that will need completing on your coursework projects. They will help act as a guide as to the work that needs to be done and also dates to hand in your project.

PRE-PRODUCTION (Planning) the work below should be posted on your blogs, make sure that it is clear which group member contributed in which tasks.

· Research task: What is Film Noir/Horror ( brief summary of Film Noir/Horror)

· Identify the characteristics and conventions of Film Noir.

· Research into the history of Film Noir/Horror.

· Individual analysis of an opening sequence of a similar media text.

· In groups begin to exchange ideas and develop a synopsis

· Research and develop a audience profile for your film.

· Produce a mind map/ word cloud of initial ideas.

· Produce a storyboard and script for sequence.

· Animate the storyboard.

· Take some still images of locations

· Actors in character (Make up, costume etc.)

· Produce Shooting Schedule.

· Book equipment/Studio etc


Pitch Ideas to lecturers in the form of a presentation 03/02/10, all pre-production tasks to be

added to the blog for assessment by 11/02/10


PRODUCTION

· Begin shooting using storyboard/shooting schedule.

· Review rushes after first shoot day, check light etc.

· Edit footage whilst shooting compare with storyboards make notes of any changes

· Source free sound effects.

· Create sound track.

· Complete editing and save as FINAL.

Deadline for Rough cut 12/03/10 Final Cut due 19/03/10


EVALUATION

· Script a response to the evaluation questions which are on page 2.

· Film each team member individually answering the evaluation questions, make reference to the production so that you can show clips of the finished production whilst answering the questions. The idea is that each student will have a commentary on the finished DVD.

· Make DVD in iDVD so that it includes preliminary task, rough cut, final cut, and each individual commentary.

· Produce individual PowerPoint presentations ensuring that you are creative, use images, clips, sound files etc.
